As we celebrate our fifteenth year, our portfolio features a range of completed ventures, from signature single tenant retail spaces to large-scale developments.

Our comprehensive range of services includes feasibility studies, programming, entitlements, master planning, interior design, and conceptual design through project delivery.

CEO | PRINCIPAL
Stephanie Gilbert serves as Chief Executive Officer of SMS Architects, directing the firm’s strategic vision, financial stewardship, and market growth. She leads corporate strategy, oversees firm operations, and manages capital and ownership interests, ensuring disciplined performance alongside creative excellence.
Raised in her family’s architecture and construction business, Stephanie developed an early understanding of how design and business intersect. She further strengthened that foundation through her professional experience at MBH Architects before playing a pivotal role in building SMS Architects into a dynamic, growth-oriented firm and helping shape its long-term direction.

Brandon Dedmon

CHIEF EXECUTIVE ARCHITECT | PRINCIPAL
Brandon Dedmon brings extensive architectural experience across a wide range of project types, with a strong record of leading complex projects from concept through completion. As Chief Executive Architect and Principal, he provides senior leadership over project delivery, technical execution, and team performance across the firm.
Having led successful work at both MBH Architects and SMS Architects, Brandon plays a central role in guiding project teams, mentoring project managers, and ensuring design intent is carried through with precision and accountability. His leadership is grounded in practical expertise, clear communication, and a commitment to delivering projects that consistently exceed client expectations.

Brianna Shipp

BUSINESS MANAGER
As Business Manager at SMS Architects, Brianna Shipp oversees the firm’s Marketing, Human Resources, and Office Management functions while supporting Business Development and financial initiatives. She plays an integral role in advancing the firm’s continued growth by streamlining processes, strengthening internal operations, and fostering a collaborative workplace culture.
Brianna earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communications with an emphasis in Broadcast Journalism from California State University, Fullerton. Her background in communications and organizational operations enables her to connect strategy with execution, cultivate meaningful relationships, and create systems that support the firm’s people and long term success.

After contributing to the creative vision of SMS Architects for more than five years and serving as a valued member of the team, Nicolas Biddle has chosen to step down from his position within the firm.
